Martin Weinstein

 In his perceptually complex landscapes, portraits and interiors, Martin Weinstein works firmly within the embrace of realist painting, but utilizes a sophisticated juxtaposition of different ways to imagine reality. Weinstein has developed a technique of layering several paintings on 3-5 clear acrylic sheets into a single, multi-layered whole imbued with the poetic complexities of experience and memories. This interview with the artist Martin Weinstein about his work in his solo exhibition "Beyond a Day" was recorded at Lichtundfire Gallery in March of 2019.
