This workshop at the Cross Contemporary Art Projects Gallery located at 80 White Street, 5th floor in New York City, incorporates a conversation with Dr. Luca Caldironi about responses to the layered paintings of Martin Weinstein. This survey of Weinstein's most recent work in "Looking Through Times" spans a range from portraits to plein air along with botanical studies and interior views all painted with the shifting planes and optical illusions created by the artist painting on layers of clear acrylic sheets. A noted Italian psychoanalyst, Dr. Caldironi presents his K-Now-L-Edge project which considers art through the intersection of creativity and psychoanalysis. This conversation with Martin Weinstein is part of Dr. Caldironi's research into the origins of artistic creativity - and its further effects on the audience of viewers.
This workshop is free and open to the public.
